We’re excited to kick off our 13th Annual Veterans Cap Drive—a loving tradition that brings warmth, comfort, and joy to our brave heroes who are going through cancer treatment.
Together, since our first Veterans Cap Drive, we've delivered love and warmth to 153,317 veterans!!! Great work everyone!!!
This year, we invite you to be part of this extraordinary mission and help us show America’s heroes that they are loved and not forgotten. We need both makers and cash donors to join in for this drive because both forms of support are needed to succeed in this upcoming mission:
Beginning September 11th, we’ll launch an ambitious mission to send over 7,000 to Veterans Hospitals across the United States. This heartfelt effort will culminate on Veterans Day, November 11th, 2026, as we honor those who have served our country with warmth, comfort, and gratitude.
The drive is all virtual so you can make a difference from wherever you are!

P.S.: For those new to our Knots of Love family... making and sending caps specifically for Veterans during the drive is optional. We make and send veterans hats throughout the year, but we host this annual drive to boost our love for veterans! We are committed to loving on our vets, and we continue to send non-vet beanies and NICU blankets to cancer centers and NICUs every week during the VA Cap Drive, so we still need makers to make lovingly handmade creations and make a monetary donation to support for non-vets also. Go with whatever you are called to do! Either way, you can make a real and meaningful impact in the lives of those in need.
Our veterans undergoing chemotherapy need our help – we must not forget them.
Our annual VA Cap Drive, in addition to the Veterans/VA caps we ship throughout the year on a regular basis, aims to send more handmade beanies to the brave men and women who served our country and are now receiving cancer treatment at VA hospitals across the country. These beanies offer more than warmth – they provide love in the form of comfort, hope, and a reminder that they are not alone in their fight.

To join the VA Cap Drive as a maker... simply download and complete the VA submission form by typing directly into it (not handwritten), so we can clearly read your information and count every beanie.
The drive is all virtual. You can join from anywhere in the world!
You can join at any time from 9/11/26 - 11/11/26 (Veterans Day by sending one cap/beanie (or by sponsoring a bag of beanies).
Use any pattern you like to make your caps for the veterans. Below are a few suggested patterns for men.
Any pattern can be used for our women Vets. See the wide variety of patterns on our
free knit and crochet chemo cap pattern page.We also sell some
patterns in our in-house charity shop, and 100% of the proceeds from all sales in our in-house shop go directly to our mission.
All colors are welcome! We’ve included examples of
military branch colors for inspiration. Remember, there are both men and women veterans, so a variety of styles is appreciated.
