YOU ARE ALL ANGELS!
Written on September 3, 2010 at 3:01 pm, by Christine
Christine,
I want to thank you once again for the beautiful caps you sent my way today. You can’t imagine how much they are appreciated (well actually I am sure you can imagine!) and loved by the women in my community as well as a few men. You all are angels!
Your caps are not only lovely and but warm too! I have had many return patients that absolutely love their caps. Even in Las Vegas we have cold weather in the winter and in the summer everything is air conditioned and chilly for anyone going through chemo.
Many thanks to all of you!
You are so appreciated!
Gratefully,
Linda

A touching story from the Orange County Fair
Written on July 19, 2010 at 3:41 pm, by Christine
Christine,
Yesterday was my first stint at the Fair and I had a really nice time knitting with Joy and Judi. The highlight was when a woman in a wheelchair stopped to say hello. Her husband was pushing her and her two young children were walking along side. She wore a summer hat to shade her bald head. She told us that she only has two chemo sessions to go and she’ll be done and that she has four KOL caps that kept her warm and comfortable during the cooler weather. Her husband bought four of our bracelets for each of them to wear and also made a small donation. He looked at each of us and said a sincere thank you for what we do.
I know that we receive more in thanks than we give in time when we make these caps, but now it’s personal for me and that was a moment I’ll always treasure.
Warm regards, Becky

From a Knots of Love Team Member
Written on July 15, 2010 at 3:11 am, by Christine
Dear Fellow KOL Members,
Last week I was in Orange County so I decided to deliver my dozen caps to Christine’s house. “The front door’s open, come on up the stairs,” I heard from an upstairs window. Up I went to the most well organized workshop you could ever imagine! Christine gave me a big hug, like we were long lost buddies, without missing a beat of taping boxes of out going caps. A helper “elf” was tagging incoming caps & placing them into the boxes for the next folks who would enjoy our labors of love. Plus, I got many ideas from your caps, like using ribbon, buttons, fancy colors & lots of fun fur. Christine showed me the computer & how each of us is logged in & what & when we have donated. Santa’s workshop CEO could certainly take a lesson from this well oiled machine & I highly recommend that you all drop by just to see what happens to our caps after we part with them. Thanks, Christine for all you do for all of us & for all of those others. Fondly, Louise West

Sober Living by the Sea and Knots of Love Team Up to Make Caps
Watching the eager eyes and talented hands of 30 bright young adults learn how to knit and crochet for cancer patients was truly an amazing and extremely fulfilling experience.
